An Angry Ant!

It started innocently enough a week or two ago with the daOak coming up with his idea for this blog. 'In the Oak' he said 'I see all aspects of life and it can be all too serious. How about we try and inject a little humour. Put a smile on people’s faces and give them something to talk about.'

At first I was uncertain about his idea, and then thought what the heck, we'll give it a run and if people don't like it they don't have to read it. Like the good old soul he is he warned 'People will see themselves in things that are not there, they will read thing into things that are not said! They will take general comments on a personal level.'

'However Wise' he added 'An old friend once said: there is only one thing worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about!'

This morning and not a week into project 'daOak' an angry ant came nipping at this blog. He left some rude and obscene comments, which had to be removed. While everyone is welcome to make comments, have a little banter, share a joke etc. If you don't like this blog please don't come here, please don't leave obscene comments, it's not about you, it’s about sharing a little humour, a general commentary on life in a bar.

Now I've been drinking in Thomas Reads for a number of years.(And by the way I am neither a sudo snob or indeed a pseudu snob.) As I smoke I generally make my way through the Oak to have a drag on Crane Lane. So yes, I know to see, most of the old pissartists that sit at that end of the bar.
They've been there for years and I immediately recognised some of the characters mentioned, Queen Victoria, the Professor, Mystic Meg, others I wouldn't be too sure of.
What I can't help thinking is, why is the little fat grey haired guy who seems to have his own seat at the top of the bar not mentioned? He's like a little buddha (not exactly a laughing one though). He doesn't say a lot I notice and so just cannot help thinking...?
I was forced to drink in the Oak last night. TV wasn't working in Reads and Chelsea and Liverpool were playing. (L'pool won). The 'usual suspects' (as I've heard them refer to themselves) were out in force. The younger ones (the Nerds?) seemed a bit subdued. I think the Wise one might be rubbing some people up the wrong way!
I might linger by the Oak more often!!

Dammit, Janet! There go my plans for a comment filled with so much scatological abomination, scurrility, impropriety and general vulgarity that it would bring red to the cheeks of naval chief petty officer who's just won a swearing competition with a Royal Marine drill sergeant.

Whoever you are keep up the good work!
